Don't you just love making mistakes? Probably not. It certainly doesn't feel good when we misspeak, experience social gaffes, or make errors in our respective crafts due to lack of focus, experience, or even being surrounded by energy that just doesn't resonate with us. In this video, I offer a source of inspiration through symbolism by examining the parallels between the process of creating visual art (a henna-style jagua tattoo), and using mistakes to build the fabric of who we are and who we aspire to be.
Success is layered with triumphs and mistakes, and often times, we are our worst critics. I'd bet that in the video above, there are mistakes that were imperceptible to you, but hugely obvious to me as the artist. In a world where social media gives the illusion of perfection, it's important that we maintain a balanced perspective by honoring and celebrating the mistakes and flaws that help us to learn, improve, grow and build the foundation of who we are. It is how we align with our highest selves. So, if you are reading this post or watched my video, know that you are part of a tribe who isn't afraid to try something new, and refuses to be led by fear. We welcome the mistakes as a learning experience and know that success is just beyond the horizon. This is how we honor our individuality.
